TiO2–Zeolite Metal Composites for Photocatalytic Degradation of Organic Pollutants in Water

چکیده

Immobilization of photocatalysts in porous materials is an approach to significantly minimize the hazards manipulation and recovery nanoparticles. Inorganic materials, such as zeolites, are proposed promising for photocatalyst immobilization mainly due their photochemical stability. In this work, a green synthesis method combine TiO2-based with commercial ZY zeolite. Moreover, preliminary analysis performance abatement organic pollutants waters was performed. Our results show that physical mixture TiO2 zeolite maintains photocatalytic activity. Meanwhile, composites fabricated by doping TiO2–zeolite Y silver palladium nanoparticles do not contribute improving activity beyond TiO2.

Photocatalytic Degradation of Organic Pollutants in Water

A photocatalyst is defined as a substance which is activated by adsorbing a photon and is capable of accelerating a reaction without being consumed [1]. These substances are invaria‐ bly semiconductors. Semiconducting oxide photocatalysts have been increasingly focused in recent years due to their potential applications in solar energy conversion and environmen‐ tal purification. Semiconductor ...

2D Transition Metal Dichalcogenides and Graphene-Based Ternary Composites for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution and Pollutants Degradation

Photocatalysis have attracted great attention due to their useful applications for sustainable hydrogen evolution and pollutants degradation. Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) such as MoS₂ and WS₂ have exhibited great potential as cocatalysts to increase the photo-activity of some semiconductors. By combination with graphene (GR), enhanced cocatalysts of TMD/GR hybrids could be synthesize...

A Photocatalytic Method for the Degradation of Pyrrolidine in Water

A method for the degradation of pyrrolidine in water is described. The method relaies on the photocatalytic degradation of pyrrolidine to CO2 and NH3 by UV irradiation and using titanium dixide semiconductor as a photocatalyst. Compared with direct photolysis, the semiconductor catalytic photolysis gave consistently higher degradation yields for pyrrolidine in water. T...
